Tom "Syndicate" Cassell is a part-time British variety streamer.
Syndicate started his YouTube channel "TheSyndicateProject" on September 3rd, 2010. The channel was originally built on Halo and Modern Warfare 2 let's play videos, but came to prominence with the release of the Call of Duty: Black Ops "zombies" mode and his subsequent videos featuring the gamemode on his channel. It further grew due to the series "The Minecraft Project". He also operates a second channel, "Life Of Tom". Syndicate runs a Twitch channel which, as of August 2017 has over 2.4 million followers, making it one of the most followed channels on the website.

From a normal, everyday gamer to being one of the most talked about social media celebrities, Tom Cassell and his channel have been the driving force of several gaming fanatics. His most popular channel was opened on the 3rd September 2010.
When Syndicate started his channel with the sole purpose of entertainment, he didn't know that it would one day fetch him nearly 10 million subscribers. Syndicate earns about $1 million per year for this full-time ‘gameplay’ gig. With fans flocking to his channel to get a slice of his commentary and his gaming skills, Syndicate’s enviable career has reached new heights. Syndicate and his booming gaming career is not going to fade away soon and his authentic and unique content is what backs that statement up. In late 2013 Syndicate was paid $30,000 along with other influential YouTubers, to promote Microsoft's newly launched Xbox One console.
In November 2014 Syndicate, along with fellow YouTuber SeaNanners in cooperation with media company 3BlackDot launched a multi-channel network "Jetpak" aiming for a more fair payment model for the revenue made. In August 2015, Gamasutra reported that Syndicate and SeaNanners may have again violated Federal Trade Commission guidelines on disclosures for YouTubers due to publishing multiple let's play videos of 3BlackDot's game Dead Realm without disclosing their financial ties to the product
When Tom was younger, he went to The Blue Coat secondary school located in Oldham, Greater Manchester. He left school and quit his job at McDonald's after taking his A-levels at Hyde Clarendon college and decided against university to concentrate on his YouTube channel.
Due to his global fame as a gamer, Tom travels from the UK to Los Angeles, USA on a regular basis to connect with the gaming industry insiders, a community which has been growing by leaps and bounds. Apart from gaming, he is also known as a very entertaining vlogger, and makes his life more transparent to his fans by updating them on even the smallest events.
