Nick "NickMercs" Kolcheff is a full-time American variety streamer who is a professional Fortnite player for FaZe Clan.

The channel NickMercs was created on September 13th, 2010. His earliest live moment can be seen on a video on his Twitch channel[1].

NickMercs was born on November 21st, 1990 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Before beginning his streaming career NickMercs was a well known name in the Gears of Wars scene. A community full of loud and boisterous personalities who weren't afraid to back their trash talk up in person. During this time Mercs played on many different teams and was even on Team Envyus alongside popular Fortnite streamer HighDistortion. He would go on to join the Halo Esports scene too and built a strong rivalry with Ninja. The two would regularly trash talk one another in game and this almost caused a real fight between the two. GoW and Halo served as an introduction into the Esports world for Nick but it wasn't until Fortnite Battle Royale that NickMercs would become Esports famous. He began his streaming career with the game Outlast which was the first game he'd regularly stream. However, he would switch over to the Call of Duty series which he mainly played on console. Playing with a controller instead of a keyboard has been a staple of NickMercs channel since its creation it in 2010.

Nick's over-the-top and loud personality gave a voice to the console community on Twitch. Mercs proved that you could be just as good as the pros while using just a controller. Upon breaking numerous kill records on Fortnite his channel blew up and it was obvious his talent could no longer be ignored. He has played in multiple professional Fortnite events with his best performance being in week 6 of the Summer Skirmish Series where he placed 3rd alongside his partner SypherPK. On May 24, 2019 NickMercs decided that he would leave 100Thieves, an organization he joined in 2016, and stated he wanted to move back home. Mercs would go onto claim that he left the organization because Nadeshot, head of 100Thieves, broke some professional promises he made and Nick stated he'll never do business with him again.[2] It was announced on May 30, 2019, less than a week after leaving 100Thieves, that Nick would be joining Faze Clan. Mercs continues to be one of the most popular Fortnite streamers on Twitch who's passion for the game can be felt by anyone who views his channel.
