General Facts

  • South Korea is by far the most dominant region at Worlds, having won five of the eight World Championships.
  • Five different orgs have won Worlds (Fnaticlogo std.png FNC, Taipei Assassinslogo std.png TPA, SK Telecom T1logo std.png SKT, Samsung Galaxylogo std.png SSG, Invictus Gaminglogo std.png IG), while nine different orgs have been in the Worlds finals (Fnaticlogo std.png FNC, Taipei Assassinslogo std.png TPA, SK Telecom T1logo std.png SKT, Samsung Galaxylogo std.png SSG, Invictus Gaminglogo std.png IG, Against All authoritylogo std.png aAa, Azubu Frostlogo std.png AZF, Royal Never Give Uplogo std.png RNG, KOO Tigerslogo std.png KOO). Samsung White's 2014 Worlds win counts towards the Samsung org, while Royal Club and Star Horn Royal Club's finals appearances in 2013 and 2014 count towards the Royal Never Give Up org.
  • Fnaticlogo std.png Fnatic's Worlds 2011 title was the last time a team with western players won Worlds, while their Worlds 2018 finals appearance is the first time since 2011 that a team with western players made the finals.
  • Worlds 2011 and 2018 are also the only editions of the event to not feature a South Korean team in the finals
