IEM Season IX - San Jose is the third event of IEM Season IX (second with LoL involved), organized by ESL. It took place at the SAP Center, San Jose.
The event was cast by Brandon "Saintvicious" DiMarco, Leigh "Deman" Smith, Joe Miller, Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles, Sam "Kobe" Hartman-Kenzler, Joshua "Jatt" Leesman, and Stephen "Snoopeh" Ellis. Eefje "sjokz" Deporteere was the stage host and Rivington "Rivington" Bruce Bisland III was the desk host.[1]
Format
Pro Tournament
- Six teams:
- Single Elimination
- Quarterfinals and Semifinals are Best-of-three
- Finals are Best-of-five
- Matches are Played on Patch 4.20[2] with
Kalista disabled and
Azir enabled[3]
Showmatch
- Single match Celebrity ARAM
- Either team drawing
Soraka or
Sona will result in a re-game
- When players are dead, they are allowed to walk to the desks of the enemy team and "mess with them"
- Winning team gets $10,000
