CJ Entus is a Korean multi-gaming organization originally founded in 2001 under the name "ProSuma" as a StarCraft: Brood War team before Korean holding company CJ became its title sponsor in 2006, giving the team its current name. It entered League of Legends in 2012 with its own team and then acquired both Azubu Frost and Azubu Blaze in 2013 after both teams' rosters announced they would not be renewing their Azubu contracts.
History
Season 2
CJ Entus made its first foray into the competitive scene when they formed a team that consisted of Pecko, LongPanda, Kkinsh, emboob, Eryuk. The team played in their first OGN at Azubu The Champions Summer 2012 where they lost all their games and placed last in their group. Their performances in NLB gained them enough circuit points to qualify for the Season 2 Korea Regional Finals. However, they lost in the fifth place tiebreaker 3-1 to Incredible Miracle.
Season 3
CJ's first tournament of the season was IEM Season VII - Global Challenge Cologne where they made it to the semifinals but lost 2-1 to Fnatic. They came back to Korea to play in OLYMPUS Champions Winter 2012-2013 where they lost 3-2 in the quarterfinals to Azubu Frost. The CJ organization sponsored Azubu Frost and Azubu Blaze and they were renamed to CJ Entus Frost and CJ Entus Blaze respectively. When both teams were picked up by CJ, the original CJ Entus team disbanded. A mixed CJ Entus roster participated in the OGN Club Masters where they made it to playoffs but placed fourth overall after losing 3-2 to Xenics-OP United and 3-0 to KT Rolster. Unfortunately, both CJ teams missed worlds at the end of the season. However, they earned the distinction of making the IEM Season VII World Championship grand finals an all-CJ final, which Blaze won 3-1.
2014 Season
Another mixed CJ Entus roster participated in the SK Telecom LTE-A LoL Masters 2014 where they placed third overall after losing to Samsung Galaxy in the semifinals. Neither of the CJ teams performed well in any of the 2014 OGN seasons, so both teams missed the regionals and, by extension, worlds.
2015 Season
Changes to the OGN rules forced Frost and Blaze to merge. The new roster consisted of Shy, Ambition, CoCo, Space, and Madlife. CJ Entus were invited to IEM Katowice, the IEM Season IX final in March 2015. They finished in 5th/6th place, after defeating Gambit Gaming but then losing to Team SoloMid and Team WE. CJ placed third in the regular season of SBENU Champions Spring 2015 and made it to the playoffs but they lost 3-2 in the semifinals to SK Telecom T1 and placed third for the season. The team played in SBENU Champions Summer 2015 and placed third in the regular season again. However, they lost 3-0 in the second round to the KOO Tigers and placed fourth for the season. CJ earned enough circuit points to qualify for the 2015 Season Korea Regional Finals where they lost 3-2 in the semifinals to the Jin Air Green Wings and missed out on worlds. CJ played in the 2015 LoL KeSPA Cup where they lost 3-0 in the finals to Ever.
