Black Market Brawlers is a seasonal game mode that first appeared during the Bilgewater Burning Tides lore event. A Summoner's Rift 5v5 variant, it includes new items and special minions for hire using Krakens, a unique in-game currency. Its initial run went from July 30th, 2015 to August 10th, 2015, and enabled players to team up and earn rewards during the event. It also sparked a broadcasted showmatch including NA LCS casters and crew.

Format

  • 5v5 on Summoner's Rift
  • Blind Draft
  • New in-game currency: Krakens
    • 1 earned passively every 60 seconds

    • 1 for counter-jungling large monsters
  • Brawlers
    • Special minions purchased and upgraded using Krakens
    • Once hired, the choice is locked in for the game and Brawlers accompany each minion wave
    • Choices: Ironbacks (reduced damage from enemy structures), Plundercrabs (ranged minions that will attack enemy minion wave and champions), Razorfins (enemy champion trackers and hunters) and Ocklepods (magic resist buff to nearby minions and occasional moving Clairvoyance-like vision spells)
