History

Halo 2: Anniversary

HCS Season 1

eXcellence returned to Halo in 2015, forming an eX Black roster of Cobys2Fast, SwiftKill, Wolfmayyne and UnLegit. Their first event was Gamers For Giving 2015, where they placed 9-12th.

HCS Season 2

eX Black placed top 6 in HCS Preseason Cup 1. Wolfmayyne then left the team, resetting eX's points, and Spartan joined. The new roster simply going under the name "eXcellence" placed top 32 in the second preseason cup. At Iron Games Columbus 2015, eXcellence upsetted eLevate before losing to Denial. In the LB, they lost to Noble Black, ending their tournament with a top 12 placing.[1] At some point after IG Atlanta, Spartan and SwiftKill left eXcellence. They were replaced by eL TowN and iTz So Frosty. The new roster had a strong showing in HCS Cup #1, finishing in the top 6. Following top 8 finishes in the next two cups, eXcellence returned to the top 6 in Cup 4, and repeated their placing in Cup 5. On the weekend of Cup 6, eXcellence hosted a practice LAN featuring themselves, Team Liquid and Winterfox. eXcellence finished top 8 in the cup while playing together at the LAN. eXcellence entered HCS Indianapolis with the 8th seed, needing to hold onto it in order to qualify for the season finals. Despite losing to the 9th seeded Noble eSports and finishing lower than them (top 12 to Noble's top 8), Noble was not able to make up their 50 point deficit, and eXcellence qualified for the HCS Season 2 Finals as the 8th seed. At the finals, eXcellence had a tough task in front of them, with their first opponents being Evil Geniuses. eXcellence put up a good fight, taking a game from the dominant squad, but were eventually defeated 3-1. In the Loser's Bracket, eXcellence took on Cloud9 and were defeated 3-0, ending their event and their season with a top 8 finish.
