"Octane" (Real Name: Sam Larew) is a professional Call Of Duty player for Seattle Surge and currently resides in the United States. He broke out on the scene during Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, being renowned as one of the best ARs in the game who is well known for his roles on JusTus, Prophecy, and Team EnVyUs.

Biography

Advanced Warfare

Octane took the Call of Duty Pro scene by a storm during Advanced Warfare. He breifly played for Dream Team before being picked up by Team Justus alongside StuDyy, Merk and TCM. Octane competed with Justus during Season Two of the Pro League but ended up placing 12th with the team ending with a record of 13-31. Octane played for Prophecy for the Season Three Relegation Tournament alongside Aches, Aqua and Apathy although unfortunately they did not place top 4 to make it into Season Three of the AW Pro League, falling short by one round in a Game 5 S&D Qualification Round vs. iSolation. On June 25th, 2015 Octane joined Team EnVyUs alongside Jkap, Aqua and Loony. After inconsistent placings with nV, Octane left and decided to join Elevate alongside Saints, Slacked, and TJHaLy. At MLG World Finals, Elevate defeated top teams like FaZe and Denial before they faced Denial again and lost, finishing in 3rd place. On October 25th, Octane left Elevate to join Rise Nation with Classic, Slacked, and Loony.

Black Ops 3

At the Totino's Invitational 2015, Rise placed first beating OpTic Gaming by 1 round of Search and Destroy on Breach. Rise attended the 2016 CWL NA Pro Division Qualifying Invitational Tournament and qualified for the league. Rise in their second LAN of Black Ops 3 placed first at UMG South Carolina 2016 beating Luminosity Gaming in the finals. They also managed a second place finish at the 2016 NA CWL Stage 1 Playoffs after a heartbreaking loss to OpTic Gaming in a Game 7 Round 11 on Infection Search & Destroy. At ESWC Zénith 2016, Rise took home the 3rd place finish losing to Splyce. On August 31st, 2018, Octane joined Hundred Thieves.

CoD: Black Ops 4

The experienced player, is being part of the Hundred Thieves so far for the Black Ops 4 season, with the team, he got top 12 at 2019 CWL Las Vegas Open, 4th at 2019 CWL Fort Worth Open and won both the 2019 CWL London Open and the 2019 CWL Anaheim Open. He is also playing the CWL 2019 Pro League Playoffs.

Trivia

  • Octane has stated that his left trigger is permanently pressed down, and that he is pre-aiming when he spawns in.
  • Octane doesn't use a Scuf nor does he use Claw.
  • Many people thought that Octane named himself after the Call of Duty: Ghosts map, Octane but stated he started playing competitive Call of Duty in Black Ops 2
